Kennis Marquis was born in St. Louis, Mo. where he attended St Louis University. He first joined a hip hop dance group in 1993 called "Total Control". Kennis' group soon won every talent show in the city, landing the him a gig with MC Hammer. Three years later Kennis moved to Los Angeles where he eventually danced and choreographed with artists such as BlackStreet, R Kelly, and Snoop Dogg. In 2003 Kennis assisted choreographer Laurie ann Gibson with the feature film Honey. Following the movie, he choreographed for artists such as Ludacris, LL Cool J, Juelz Santana, and the Ying Yang Twins. In 2007 Kennis choreographed Diddy’s world tour as well as Lebron James’ performance of My Prerogative at the ESPY awards. Kennis’ choreography has him teaching all over the world from Japan to Australia and everywhere in between. He choreographed for MTV’s Taking the Stage as well as the Wii’s Just Dance Kids. If you haven’t seen Kennis, you’ve more than likely seen his choreography. Watch for him rockin’ Norjack’s DanceLife line as he makes moves throughout the industry.
